As a part of UNBANNED: Exploring Censorship in Books, Art, & Media, our Banned Book Library will be open as a reading space at the Park featuring books that have been challenged, restricted, or removed from schools and libraries across the country. Curated in partnership with the National Coalition Against Censorship, the collection also includes materials on censorship in media and the arts, inviting visitors to explore how creative expression is being silenced in all its forms.
Open daily from May 16–June 2 at FDR Four Freedoms State Park.
Volunteers will be onsite to share additional information, answer questions, and offer handouts about censorship and the titles featured.
All ages welcome. Sit, read, and reflect.
